Connection to AS/400 and iSeries Databases

Reported for version 10

Are AS/400 and iSeries databases supported by DQC? Is it possible to connect and retrieve data from such database?

The supported databases withing DQC are as follows:
Recommended: Oracle R9+, MS SQL 2005+, IBM DB2 9.7, Teradata 12.10, 13.10, 14.10
Supported: IBM DB2, Sybase ASE, Sybase ASA, MySQL, Apache Derby, PostgreSQL

In general, if you have a compatible JDBC driver there should be no problem with connecting to other databases. As for the AS/400 or iSeries databases, there are two possible options:

The first option is to try using the DB2 driver with one of the following connection strings:

jdbc:db2://<host>:<port:50000>/<database_name>

or

jdbc:as400://<host>:<port:50000>/<database_name>

Note that you need to modify the parameters according to your environment.

The second option is for downloading a different driver. You can download the jt400.jar file from the IBM support website. Then add the driver to DQC. Detailed information of adding a new JDBC driver is given in the corresponding section of Documentation portal. After the driver is added, use the second connection string.
